I attended a signing at The Poisoned Pen to see one of my all-time favorite authors, Catherine Cowles! During the Q&A, I was selected to ask her a question. Before she even answered, she greeted me with, “Well, first off, hi! How are you?” In that moment, I thought, “Yep, this is why I love her so much!” She always remembers her readers, and her warmth truly makes us feel special. When I asked about her favorite part of being on book tour, she shared that it’s moments like these—the signings, connecting with readers, and the joy of these interactions. That’s the beauty of the book community! I’m endlessly grateful for the friendships I’ve formed along the way.
Bonus of the day was Catherine’s bestie and fellow local author, Rebecca Janshak, was also in attendance! So I was able to chat with her and have her sign my books! #winningatlife #bookishlove
My passion has always been reading. From a young age I found true joy in diving into literature and discussing books with anyone who'd listen; and I haven't stopped since. After acquiring quite a collection of signed books from my favorite authors, meeting new people through book clubs, signings and making lifetime friends (both fiction and non-fiction), I have started my own blog, Hi'D's Book Hub!
When not reading, you can find me out with my husband and friends, venturing to explore new restaurants, and tasting wines from around the world! I married her high school sweetheart and we have three grown children. We recently have become empty nesters as our last baby has gone off to college. In addition to being a bookworm, I love listening to music, going to concerts, and attending Phoenix Coyotes hockey games. I am likely Madonna's number 1 fan and have the tattoo to prove it!
